Description
Probio-C Injection: Each ampoule contains: Vitamin C 1000 mg. Probio-C Serum: Each bottle contains: Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate 10 mL.
Action
Drug Action: Probio-C Injection: Vitamin C is readily absorbed and distributed widely in body tissue. Vitamin C belongs to the water-soluble vitamins and works as a coenzyme and plays an important role in the formation of intercellular substance and collagen tissue which forms part of the net tissue.
Indications/Uses
Probio-C Injection: Therapy of Vitamin C deficiency (e.g. scorbut).
Probio-C Serum: Vitamin-C is an antioxidant that helps protect the skin from the adverse effect of free radicals to keep skin healthy. Product Probio-C works as part of a complete skin care. This product should be used routinely.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Probio-C Injection: For therapy: 100 mg/day (i.v).
Probio-C Serum: Apply sufficient amount of Probio-C High Potency Serum to the face, neck and chest using fingertips.
Apply to the cleansed skin once or twice daily.
Apply before any make-up, sunscreen or night cream. A slight tingling sensation may occur in some people, which will usually diminish with time.
Contraindications
Probio-C Injection: Individuals hypersensitive to Vitamin C.
Special Precautions
Probio-C Injection: Parenteral administration of vitamin C in large doses could lead to wide oxalosis, cardiac arrythmia and severe renal failure.
Large doses can also cause dysuria due to irritation of the distal part of the urethra.
Probio-C Serum: For external use only.
Avoid direct contact with the eyes or mucous membranes.
Keep away from children.
Keep cap on tightly between applications.
Adverse Reactions
Probio-C Injection: Use of large doses (>1000 mg/day) for long periods of time can cause Vitamin C dependence. This effect will go down if the dose is decreased gradually.
Large doses can cause diarrhea and renal calcium oxalate calculi formation may occur if urine is acidic.
A dose of 600 mg daily or more can cause diuresis.
Drug Interactions
Probio-C Injection: Drugs leading to tissue saturation of Vitamin C include: Acetosal, Nicotine from smoking, Alcohol, some appetite depressants, Iron, Phenytoin, some anti-convulsants, Estrogen component from oral contraceptive drugs and Tetracycline.
Storage
Probio-C Injection: Store below 25°C, protect from light.
Probio-C Serum: Store below 25°C, protected from direct sunlight.
